Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who gets invited?

During the first six months, I slowly built the list to make sure this idea worked. Now there’s a set list, and you all get the invite at the same time. The first to RSVP get the seats — which always results in a mix of fabulous, interesting people.

  • How do I know if I’ve confirmed my spot?

Once you fill out the RSVP form, you’re in! The form will only stay open while there are seats available, so if you made it through — congrats, you have a seat at the table. I recommend adding it to your calendar using the Add to GCal button so it doesn’t slip your mind. You won’t get a separate confirmation email or text.

  • Can I bring a +1?

Nope, unless they were sent the invite and RSVPed themselves. This keeps the table balanced & ensures everyone gets a chance to join.

  • What do I bring?

Never food (except for the Friendsgiving edition b/c I am not a baker). Everyone’s been so creative and gracious with what they’ve brought so far. Trust your gut but if decision-making stresses you out, here are some ideas: our favorite champagne, something from my favorite home store Big Night WV, records, glassware, books, serveware, or décor.

  • What do I wear?

Each month’s theme usually includes a note about attire but honestly, wear what you feel good in. Just remember: it’s a no-shoes household, so don’t build your outfit around your best footwear.

  • Would anyone ever get uninvited?

It’s very hard to get booted but not impossible. The only two reasons:

    1. Being blatantly rude to someone else at the table.

    2. Repeatedly showing up with thoughtless contributions (yes, that sad wine from the back of your fridge counts). It’s not about money, it’s about effort and respect for what goes into creating the night.
